International Children’s Bible®

This is a Bible children can read and understand. Most children don’t understand adult words like “atonement,” “redeem,” or “oracle.” In this proven translation of the complete Bible, the words have been carefully selected just for children. 

Included in the Bible is a children’s dictionary/index, with more than 200 entries, where children may find explanations for difficult words and phrases. Simplified footnotes explain Bible names, customs, and phrases. Colorful maps show key cities and lands.

If at all possible, it is helpful to order enough of these Bibles for each child to have one, or at least one to share, so they can follow along as the teacher reads. 

Children love learning their Bible verses through music and percussive rhythms, especially when they can follow along with vocalists who are kids their age. You will find yourself enjoying the learning process just as much as they do. Children, and you as well, will remember these verses for years to come.

This music album includes all the songs and memory verses for the entire year and is available on both CD and for download (both are included in the price). The songs and verses are arranged in the order of their first occurrence, making it easy to find them on the CD/download, so you can follow along and learn progressively.

Even though supplemental pages included in each lesson can be copied directly from the curriculum books, pages sent directly to a printer maintain their intended quality and appearance. This album provides everything you need to print take-home cards, craft pages, picture cards, and more.

Available on a USB drive and for digital download (but not on CD), this album contains every reproducible page from the four curriculum books. Arranged by quarter and page number, all pages are easy to access and offer superior quality for copying. Additionally, the drive/download (both included in the price) includes supply lists for each quarter, ensuring you have everything you need for an enjoyable teaching experience.

Included with the curriculum is the Standard Bible Atlas. It is used throughout the year to give children a visual picture of where the lessons they are learning about take place. It also allows children experience in using a supplemental book for studying the Bible.

The New Manners and Customs of Bible Times by Ralph Gower is a wonderful reference used throughout the year for actual pictures of places, objects, dress, etc., of the Biblical times about which the children are learning.

Colorful labels, identified by picture, color, and grade level of the curriculum, may be attached to the extra books, flannel pictures, etc., to identify them as part of each grade’s curriculum. There is room to write your church’s name and address, if that is so desired.

This book contains step-by-step instructions for teaching children the Bible lessons, Bible truths, and memory verses. Activities in each lesson are designed to include all learning styles as well as to address the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of third through sixth graders. All song sheets, craft and activity pages, and take-home card pages are included in the lesson books.

The majority of Winter Quarter is spent learning about the life of Paul, his conversion and some of the things he did as a Christian. Children also learn about Lottie Moon, a more recent missionary. The comparison between Lottie and Paul illustrates how the truths of the Bible are just as applicable to our lives as to those we read about in the Bible. Christmas lessons focus on Mary, Joseph, and Jesus and how God’s will is always best.

For the Third Grade lessons, we encourage you, if at all possible, to provide enough copies of the International Children’s Bible® so that each child (or at least two or three sharing a book) may follow along as you read the lesson.

The Third Grade curriculum is also suitable for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders.

The story, “Christmas in Morocco,” from A Christmas Collection by Patricia St. John is read to the children during the Christmas season. In the story, a missionary nurse prepares a feast for the orphan beggar boys who come to her house for help. During the feast, she shows slides depicting the birth of Jesus. Children in class also experience a feast as they listen to the reading. At the appropriate time in the reading, either slides of the posters or the posters themselves are displayed for the children, inviting them into the story and the true meaning of Christmas.

This is a set of 4 different posters that are used in the telling of the story. 

How to help children remember Abraham’s family line? With this set of laminated, colorfully illustrated laminate pictures, children give order to the family line:  Abraham and Sarah, the birth of Isaac, grown Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Jacob and Esau as twin babies and as grown men, Joseph in his coat of many colors, Joseph in Egypt, the Israelites as slaves.

The laminate pictures may be used over and over and will last many years.
